Scott’s Cheap Flights (SCF) is one example of an online company that helps you find those highly sought after discounted plane tickets. But is Scott’s Cheap Flight’s Premium Service worth the cost?
What is Scott’s Cheap Flights?
Scott’s Cheap Flights sends you email alerts of discounted flights that are flying out of your favorite airports. The SCF team scours the web to find the best flight deals from a variety of sources. Then they’ll send you the alert with information about the flight (cost, time frame, airline, etc.) and instructions on where to get the deal (Google Flights, airline’s website, etc.). But, like I said, it’s only from your favorite airports, so you won’t get bombarded with deals that don’t apply to you.
Another highlight of SCF is that they focus on quality flight deals. They put every deal through what they call the Bestie Test. This means only top-rated airlines and flight schedules. So no Spirit Airlines deals or flights that have multiple layovers or have to be booked last minute.
When you sign up for their email alerts, you also get fun weekly emails of a new destination around the globe. They do a great job picking interesting places to feature and dissect. This email has definitely inspired a few more adds to my travel bucket list!

Free Plan
The awesome thing about SCF is that they have a great free product. When you sign-up for the email alerts you do not need to enter any credit card info to begin receiving deals. You simply sign up and can begin receiving the basic flight deals and weekly destination digest emails. The basic flight deals include international economy only. It’s really a great business decision on their part though, because there is no way to sign-up and not want even more great deals.
Premium Plan
Scott’s Cheap Flight’s Premium Plan is the best option for most people. Myself included. For $49 a year you get the basic international economy flights, plus domestic economy, mistake fares, and more. The savings from one flight can easily cancel out this cost. So that makes it a no-brainer for me.
Elite Plan
Now Scott’s Cheap Flights Elite Plan is the newest tier. It was created after many SCF customers wanted to get deals on business class and first class deals too. So for $199 a year you can get deals on these classes of tickets. If you normally fly business or first class then choosing this plan should have you finding the deals you want.
Is Scott’s Cheap Flights Premium Service Worth It?
If you like to travel a couple times a year, and are flexible on the destination and/or timeframe, I believe Scott’s Cheap Flights Premium Plan will definitely be worth it. If you have any hesitation though, just sign up for the Free Plan first and take it for a test run.
