Best Place to Stay in North Shore Lake Tahoe

This lodge is across the street from the lake, which makes it great for Summer lake access and activities. Plus it will take less than 15 minutes to get to the Northstar Ski Resort and less than 30 minutes to Squaw Valley Ski Resort.
Best Place to Stay in Incline Village
Incline Village is on the Northeastern side of Lake Tahoe. This area is on the Nevada side of the border, which means gambling is legal. This area is a little less busy, but the quieter areas on the lake a always a great place to unwind and relax.
If you are looking for a place to catch up on some R&R or practice some self-care, this is the place for you. There is a kids club within the resort, so you don’t need to worry when you sneak away to a spa appointment. Best Place to Stay in Stateline
Stateline is in the Southeastern side of Lake Tahoe on the Nevada side. If you want nightlife, fine dining, gambling, and being able to walk to most whatever you need, this is the area for you. It is also the area where you can access the more expert ski runs at Heavenly Ski Resort. Or during Summer months, you won’t want to miss all the fun beach activities that happen at Zephyr Cove.
The Hard Rock Resort and Casino at South Lake Tahoe is a favorite spot to stay year-round, so book ahead. The rooms are updated nicely, very modern and clean. With an indoor swimming pool, karaoke bar, casino and nightclub, there will also be no shortage of fun. The resort is right on “the strip” at Stateline and is very walkable to the other resorts, restaurants, and the Heavenly Ski Resort gondola. Lastly, a quick 10 min drive will also get you to the popular Lake Tahoe beach, Zephyr.
Best Place to Stay in South Lake Tahoe
South Lake Tahoe refers to the bottom half of the lake’s shores. However, for this section we will focus on the California side, which is the South and Southwestern shore. This area is very popular as well, and has more of the mountain village vibe than Stateline’s mini Vegas feel. The main attraction will be the gondola to the top of Heavenly, and the Heavenly village. If you’re visiting during Summer, it is also a great place to stay if you want to visit Emerald Bay.
